What changed with Amazon FBA prep in 2026?
Three things. Amazon discontinued its in-house FBA prep service on January 1, 2026. Amazon ended commingling for non-Brand-Registry sellers on March 31, 2026. And Amazon is rolling the FNSKU label format to combined 1D + 2D barcodes through 2026.
- CLAUSE 01
In-house prep ended 2026-01-01. Amazon discontinued its own FBA prep service. Sellers now prep themselves or use a third-party prep center.
- CLAUSE 02
Commingling ends 2026-03-31. Every non-Brand-Registry unit must carry an FNSKU label. No more shared stickerless pools.
- CLAUSE 03
FNSKU format is transitioning. Combined 1D and 2D barcode rolls out across categories. 300 DPI thermal output is the baseline.

Questions we get every week
What is your FNSKU mislabel policy? +
If we apply an FNSKU label incorrectly and Amazon rejects or unfulfills the unit as a result, we refund your full prep fee on the affected units and reimburse Amazon’s removal order fee. Documented in the SLA attached to your MSA.
How do you handle 2D barcodes? +
We run 300 DPI thermal printers and software (FNSKU Studio, ScanPower, SKULabs) that output Amazon’s combined 1D and 2D FNSKU format today. Compliant with the 2026 transition out of the gate.
Do you commingle inventory? +
No. Every client’s inventory is physically segregated and dual-scanned at receipt. After March 31, 2026 Amazon requires FNSKU on every non-Brand-Registry unit anyway, which eliminates commingling at the Amazon side.
Do you handle hazmat and lithium batteries? +
Yes. Our staff is DOT 49 CFR 172.704 trained for lithium-ion, aerosols, and ORM-D. Per-unit hazmat surcharge applies; published on the rate card.
Are you a Brand Registry and Transparency Program prep center? +
Yes. If you are a Brand Registry Brand Representative, we will verify your UPC is scannable and skip FNSKU labeling on qualifying SKUs. We will not bill you for labels you do not need. We apply Transparency Program T-codes with scan verification at $0.15 per unit.
Do you do MCF or SFP fulfillment? +
Not as a primary service. Our focus is inbound FBA prep, receiving, and outbound to Amazon fulfillment centers. If you need MCF or SFP, we will tell you who to call.
What is your receiving SLA? +
24 hours from truck arrival to scanned into your dashboard. If we miss it we document the miss and escalate to owner review.
Do you have minimums? +
No monthly minimums. Ship us 10 units or 10,000. Volume tiers kick in at 5,000, 25,000, and 50,000 units per month.
